Just a quick note that I have a new essay in Foreign Affairs, one of the most preeminent national-security and foreign policy publications here in the United States with a large, public audience.
I argue that well over two years into the Russo-Ukrainian War, if we want to be analytically honest we must hold to a baseline of Putin’s Russia as a resilient, rather than brittle, regime.
“The Kremlin’s performance since 2022 has demonstrated a vast capacity for adjustment and resilience in the face of internal tensions. There is strength in Russia’s authoritarian political system, and observers should not pretend otherwise.”
You can find it here.
And if you need to bypass their paywall, a PDF version can be found here.
Do share the article with anyone who might find it interesting, and as always I’m happy to hear your thoughts as well.
